I recently helped out with a baby shower for my sister-in-law, and while there would only be 2 paleo eaters - and coincidentally both crossfitters - in attendance (myself and the fabulous lady that took these pictures ) I still wanted a menu that stayed true to the I way cook/eat/live. There was no mention of the party having a 'restrictive' menu of any kind, and there was no talk about missing this ingredient or that dish - it's just food people.
I made a couple salads, a primal 'quiche' with sweet potato crust, some gluten free savory scones, and some grilled asparagus. I think everyone had a full belly to welcome baby boy #2 to the Flynn family.
More pictures and basic recipes after the jump!
Menu:
Arugula Salad - arugula, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, citrus dressing: 2 parts olive oil, 1 part citrus juice (I used grapefruit, lemon, honey tangerine, and blood orange), couple drops of champagne vinegar
Chicken Salad - salt & pepper grilled chicken thighs, spring greens, roasted asparagus, berry vinaigrette: 2 parts olive oil, 1 part while wine vinegar, pureed fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries), fresh herbs
Quiche - sweet potato and yam 'crust', eggs, bacon, green onions, goat cheese. Bake it all in a cast iron skillet and serve!
Savory Scones - Cup4Cup, ham, gruyere, green onion, fresh herbs
Thanks to the hostess Emily for opening her home and printing all the cute menu cards!

What a well put-together post Cassidy! And I'm totally not being biased by saying.. even though the pics are fabulous.. they don't do the yumminess of that food any justice!! You did such a great job and showed how easy and delicious eating paleo can be. And of course, thanks for helping us celebrate baby Rhys!
What a good looking spread!! I love that you didn't advertise "paleo/primal" and no one second guessed it. So true...it's just food!
